Using a circulation pump with a regular tank water heater is a common and effective way to get nearly “instant” hot water at your shower. Unlike tankless systems, which can sometimes be “picky” about flow rates, tank heaters are very straightforward to retrofit. We can easily install one for you!
How It Works with a Tank Heater:
Standard tanks sit full of hot water, but the water in the pipes leading to your shower cools down between uses. A pump keeps that water moving so the “slug” of cold water never sits in the pipe.
We can install a pump at the water heater and return line to loop the water back to the tank.
Other options exist, give us a call to stop letting that cold water just flow down the drain!
